Paid parking in Bucharest is fragmented: some streets are managed by the general municipality, others by the specific sector, and large shopping-center lots follow their own rules.
In the center, pay by SMS to the posted short code, or use a mobile app. Parking fines are usually issued on the spot by local police or the parking company’s inspectors.
If you live downtown and drive regularly, a residency permit from your sector is the cheapest option over a year.
